15 Minute Breakfast......French Toast Sticks

Mornings can be so busy especially when it comes to making breakfast. If you like french toast you will definitely like these french toast sticks. Which will take you only 15 minutes to prepare. They can be made and stored in an air tight container or zip bag, pop them in the freezer and the next morning just warm them up in your toaster or oven and you're good to go.

But then again if you are too busy to do it, why not hire a chef to do all the work for you..:)

Look out for my next post this week

Happy cooking..
Lets get started

INGREDIENTS
2 eggs
2 teaspoons brown sugar
pinch salt
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence/extract
4-5 slices bread (cut into thick rectangles)
  oil

INSTRUCTIONS
  • Turn on your stove to medium heat
  • Cut bread into equal sized rectangles

  • In a bowl, add cinnamon, brown sugar, salt, vanilla essence/extract, milk and eggs
  • Mix well
  • Place your pan (preferably non-stick)  over the preheated plate add 1 tablespoon of oil
  • Dip the bread into the egg mixture for a few seconds
  • Place bread sticks into the pan and cook for about 4 minutes on each side. Or until a nice smoky brown

  • When ready, put them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil
  • Serve warm and enjoy!!

CHEF TIPS
  • Dunk bread in the egg mixture only for a few seconds just enough to coat them. Do not let it soak up the eggs in order for the bread to hold its shape and not break.
  • Use a little oil. You might not even need to add extra for the next batch (if you are using a non-stick pan)
